2024 FORD EDGE REVIEW

The Ford Edge is leaving the US, but China will get a new one for 2024. 2.0L EcoBoost and Hybrid are expected. Like the current Chinese Edge, this is also a 3-Row utility. Although we lose the Edge, this will be basis for the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus which will become a Chinese import in December 2023. The new Nautilus will share the same underpinnings, 2.0L and a Hybrid. These are C2 based, easily the most prolific and flexible Ford platform ever.

Overview

This 2024 Ford Edge is one of several options for those looking for a mid-sized two-row crossover with attractive features in a sleek package for a reasonable cost. The ride is smooth and dependable, and the regular turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine can provide decent performance. However, it’s not as efficient as you’d expect for efficiency on the highway. Twin-turbo V6 is the engine that powers the top-of-the-line performance-focused ST trim. However, the price isn’t very different from its high-end counterpart in the corporate segment, the Lincoln Aviator. Price revisions for the 2024 model year will leave only the basic SE as the sole Edge trim with an MSRP lower than the $40,000 mark. The Edge’s brand-new mate, the highly acclaimed Bronco off-roader, has two trim levels within the upper-mid-to-middle $30,000 price segment. It doesn’t improve the Edge’s appeal much because this segment includes The 10Best award-winning Kia Telluride, the similar Hyundai Palisade, and many other powerful competitors such as the Mazda CX-9 and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Edge is as good as the Edge might be, but in this particular class, the Edge isn’t adequate.

What’s new for 2024?

In addition to the price increase and price rise, the Edge is getting a few specific changes to its trim. To begin, ST models get an available interior design package, and the alarm for the perimeter feature will be the standard feature. The other new standard features include the Iconic Silver honeycomb grille with chrome surround on SE and SEL models and Iconic Silver fog lamp bezels for models with the convenience pack.

2024 Ford Edge Review Interior?

The Ford 2024 Edge interior has been designed to be comfortable and efficient. It features electric rear windows, a manual telescopic steering column, and four-way passenger and driver seats. The center console features cup holders in the rear and front, and the instrument panel houses the compass and cruise control. The glove box can be on the passenger’s part of the dashboard, and the central console’s knob controls the dual-zone front air conditioning.

Connectivity and Information

In addition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard and can work via an internet connection. Ford also has an internet hotspot for the entire range of Edge models. However, the in-dash navigation is an optional feature.

Safety and Driver-Assistance features

A variety of desirable driver-assistance features are included in the standard package, including automatic emergency brakes, lane-keeping aid, and blind-spot monitoring. There are also more advanced features that are available as choices.

  • Standard automatic emergency braking
  • Standard lane departure warning and lane-keeping aid
  • Available adaptive cruise controls for vehicle

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

There’s nothing edgy about the Edge’s warranty coverage—it’s strictly average for the segment, with nothing to help it stand out to consumers.

  • Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  • Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
  • No complimentary scheduled maintenance
